The academic and impressionists ideologies are often placed in contrast to one another as an example of freedom and rigidity, spirit and the lack there-of, color and no color etc.

Michael Klein and his first instructor/mentor Richard Kochenash will discuss what makes two distinct genres in art history (academic and impressionist) the formation for many of the greatest flower paintings created. Discover what can be applied to your working method from two proficient floral painters with unique styles and methodologies.

In this 3 day workshop you'll watch Michael and Rick paint together after a long period of working apart. They'll share stories about Michael's early tutelage and how Rick has continued to transform and master his own techniques since. Michael will bring one floral piece to fruition over the course of the workshop, while Rick will work on multiple pieces. This is a collaborative workshop that demonstrates technique while touching on history and how a variety of methodologies can define your own voice as an artist.
