The Landscape at Dusk with Eleinne Basa

Purchase or Subscribe HERE to join us live in December!

Eleinne Basa joins East Oaks Studio, sharing her approach to landscape painting from the studio with an emphasis on evening light. Over three days, she’ll offer foundational insights including concept creation and her interpretation of John F. Carlson’s general approach. Her demonstrations include a combination of scene/plein air reference collection and use of imagination. Composition, color inspiration, quick studies, and creating texture are some of the primary components of the workshop. Identifying + sketching main characters, Color Theory Approach, and the final steps of scumbling and glazing will anchor her process.

  • Day one: Brief intro to the Fundamentals of Landscape Painting - sourced from John F. Carlson - materials, gathering references (plein air studies, imagination, etc) identifying and sketching main characters, gathering and finalizing color inspiration

  • Other topics include Color Theory Approach, texture, quick color studies that emphasize pushing color value over chroma.

  • 13:00 - 16:00 EDT / UTC-4 Daily
