In-Person and Atelier Live Workshop with Ruth Fitton

Ruth Fitton joins East Oaks Studio for a boutique 3-day workshop exploring expressive portrait painting. This will be a small workshop, limited to six in-person attendees, as well as a virtual demonstration through Atelier Live.
The course will focus on the creation of a fully developed portrait from life, beginning from a strong narrative composition, through to refining a precise likeness. We will study the use of colour mixing and edge-work to create an exciting illusion of form, and brushwork as a means of portraying character.
Morning sessions will consist of a short lecture followed by a painting demo, in which Ruth will explain fundamental concepts and demonstrate how to apply them.
Afternoon sessions will give in-person students an opportunity to put into practice what they learned in the demo, and receive feedback.
This exclusive workshop is limited to six in-person students, who will receive a significant amount of one-on-one instruction from Ruth.

ATELIER LIVE WORKSHOP
The morning demonstration of Ruth’s workshop will be available virtually through Atelier Live, where participants can tune-in to watch in real time and ask questions, or watch the recording later in their own time.
